Robinhood Chain · 4663 · settles to Ethereum

Somebody has to check
the state roots.

Robinhood Chain posts a claim to Ethereum roughly every 32 minutes: this is the state of the chain. Verderer runs an independent node that re-derives that state from L1 data and says, in public and with a signature, whether it agrees.

The constraint, stated here rather than in a footnote

Robinhood Chain’s fraud-proof system is permissioned. validatorWhitelistDisabled() returns false, so the challenge manager rejects every caller outside a two-address allowlist — of which 1 is active. L2BEAT classifies the chain as Other, not a Rollup, for this reason.

Verderer cannot challenge on your behalf. It can prove, publicly and cryptographically, within minutes, that a posted state root disagrees with an independent replay — and it has 6.36 days to make that fact impossible to ignore before the root finalises. Escalation after that is social, and out of band. Anyone claiming more is lying.

Why one node covers two markets

Verifying the chain and racing it need the same machine.

A watchtower has to hold a fully synced node that ingests the sequencer feed at the source and reconstructs state block by block. That is the identical hardware a sniper wants. We already hold the freshest view of the chain in order to check it; selling that view costs us almost nothing on top.

Layer one · trust

The assertion nobody was checking

An optimistic rollup is exactly as safe as the number of people actually recomputing its assertions. Arbitrum’s model needs one honest validator out of N — but here the whole of N sits inside the operator’s allowlist. There is no outside party in the model at all.

We cannot stop a bad assertion at the protocol level. We can turn a silent failure into a loud one, on the first pass, with a signature anyone can check.

Layer two · speed

Proximity, not privilege

Everyone trading this chain reads it through the operator’s public RPC. We read the sequencer feed directly, which is measurably earlier — 840 ms at the median, from an ordinary machine over the public internet.

The sequencer remains the only orderer. We sell closeness to the chain and freshness of data. We do not sell queue position, because nobody can.

Bundles on a chain that has none

Robinhood Chain has one sequencer, no public mempool and strict first-come-first-served ordering. A Flashbots-style bundle is impossible here, because it needs a builder that can permute a block. But two of the three things a bundle is bought for do not need permutation at all.

How it works
01

Atomicity

Collapse N actions into one transaction against your own executor contract and the EVM guarantees it absolutely — a stronger guarantee than a builder’s promise of inclusion.

02

Conditionality

eth_sendRawTransactionConditional is live on this chain. The sequencer drops your transaction before inclusion, at zero gas, if the state you simulated against has moved.

03

Position

This one is a pure latency race, decided by arrival time. We sell proximity to the sequencer and nothing else. No tier, at any price, moves you up the queue.

Access

The truth is free. The latency is not.

Attestations, daily roots, the assertion ledger and chain status need no key and never will. A watchtower behind a paywall is not a watchtower. The paid tiers buy throughput and freshness on the speed layer, which is what funds the node.

No tier grants ordering priority, front-running capability or protection from a faster participant. Those are not products we can honestly sell on this chain. The full list of what we cannot do →

Robinhood Chain got a sequencer, bridges and a hundred protocols. It did not get a witness.

Every month this node runs is a public argument for opening the allowlist: a year of doing a validator’s work for free, asking only for the right to challenge. Until then the ledger stays open, the alerts stay quiet unless they should not be, and the silence itself is the product.
